If you’re in tech PR chance is that you’ve run a reviews programme at some point, managing the logistics of getting gadgets to journalists and then begging for them to give them back so you can let someone else have a go. It’s one of the more labour intensive aspects of the job, to say the least, but one that needs to be done right.
Well, to the list of reviews duties (courier-management, updating the lists of who has what, dealing with with tragic losses and thefts, charging batteries &c.) add keeping an eye on blog-posts and discussions from journalists while they are reviewing products and requests fro readers to input, like this one for the iPod Nano by Stephen Baker on BusinessWeek’s Blogspotting. So far he’s got 12 comments from readers giving their two-penneth on the thing.
