Good news for the growing number of people who like to buy their music one the Web: Google and Amazon are both planning to launch services to break Apple’s near-monopoly on downloads with iTunes. See the report in Friday’s FT here.
How will they break into the "silo" of iPods and iTunes will be interesting to see, but given both firms expertise in giving people simple, effective online shopping experiences they’ll doubtless find ways to do this.
