Ofcom stepped in this week to deliver a censure to BBC’s Watchdog programme, according to a report in Media Guardian. Someone who went on the programme to answer complaints from customers was interupted ten times in a three minute interview.
It’s sometimes been said that the key to understanding Watchdog is that it is an entertainment show more than a consumer rights programme.
The format of humiliating a company spokesperson on national TV has become one of its key attractions, and so the "cajoling" by Nicky Campbell was hardly an exception.
Maybe the complainant should have watched a couple of shows before he agreed to go on?
