Blog v Journo fight is over, says Jarvis

Jeff Jarvis‘s column in Media Guardian this week is worth a look – as he calls time on the blogging vs journalism argument.

He’s spot on, as usual. This is an argument that for most bloggers and journalists has already worked itself out.

Citing the acknowledged roles of bloggers in stories such as the recent AOL search information debacle and the Reuters photoshop scandal, Mr Jarvis says “I am seeing more examples of the two tribes coming together not to clash but to conspire.”

  1. Agree this was one of Jarvis’s better pieces. He also challenges the all too common approach: “networked journalism is about much more than camera-phone pictures of disasters…”

  2. Absolutely. Networked individuals can add value throughout the news cycle or life of a story, I believe.
