A while back I talked about the Second Life brand rush and the coming wave of brands building their own virtual worlds.
Now we have Sony Home and Lego’s virtual world for children being announced in one week.
It will be interesting to see how all of these pan out. I sense the Sony venture could be avery clever move for the PS3 if it’s done well.
Meantime, with XP back on my laptop I’m hoping to pay some overdue return visits to Second Life. Particularly looking forward to checking out some of the new devleopments on the IBM islands I’ve been hearing so much about.
Via Eightbar, who coments:
This is being reported all over the place and may be quite a coup for Sony and the PS3. They have unveiled the first shots and stories around a ‘free’ virtual world that PS3 owners will be able to use and interact with via the Cell powered game console.
Expect a Miccrosoft virtual world announcement within weeks, if not days.
